The book of Ephesians is Paul’s powerful explanation of who believers are in Christ and how that new identity should shape every area of life. Paul begins by revealing the riches of salvation; we have been chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, given an inheritance, and sealed with the Holy Spirit. He then explains how Christ has reconciled us to God and to one another, creating one united people and making the Church His dwelling place by the Spirit. From chapter four onward, Paul turns to the practical implications of this identity, calling believers to walk worthy of their calling through unity, holiness, love, wisdom, Spirit-filled living, and transformed relationships. The letter concludes by reminding believers that this new life is lived in the midst of spiritual opposition, requiring them to stand firm in God's strength, put on the whole armour of God, and remain steadfast in prayer. Ultimately, Ephesians calls us to know the fullness of what we have received in Christ and then live in a way that reflects who we have become in Him.
